Maple Walnut Scones
Ingredients:
1/2 C. Maple Sugar 1 Egg
1 TBS Molasses 2 C. Flour
1/2 C. Butter 1 C. Walnuts Chopped
1/4 C. Milk 1/2 tsp. Salt
1/4 C. Maple Syrup 2 tsp. Baking Powder
Maple Glaze:
1/2 C. Powdered Sugar
3 TBS Maple Syrup
Instructions:
Preheat Oven to 375°
Combine all dry ingredients and cut in butter until you have the consistency of sand.
Add in the milk, egg, maple syrup and molasses until just incorporated.
Add in walnuts and kneed dough until you can form a disc 6 inches in diameter.
Cut into 6 pieces, and lay on greased cookie sheet.
Freeze for 5 minutes and brush tops with milk and flake coarse sugar.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
While cooling whisk glaze until smooth and drizzle over the top.
Serve immediately.
