Maple Toffee Candy
Ingredients:
1/3 C. Pure Maple Syrup 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 C. Brown Sugar 1/2 C. Water
1/2 tsp. Salt 1 C. Butter
1/4 C. Chocolate Chips Assorted nuts (optional)
Over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, water, maple syrup in a tall sided pot. Once 290° add vanilla and salt, it will bubble up so be very careful with the hot candy. Pour into ice cube trays or silicone molds. After it’s just started to set, add a few chocolate chips to melt and spread a thin layer across the toffee and add a few nuts if desired, cool 15 minutes and pop out of the molds.
Note: Pour only a little toffee into the molds, so it is easier to bite into, or spread thinly on a cookies sheet. dust with coarse salt for extra flavor.
